The event again this year was very successful, in terms of our wonderful buffet, entertainment, fun and most importantly, fundraising. We are able to provide Serving Our Savior Food Pantry with a donation of $11,500. This donation was a direct result of many people coming together as a team to provide and support for ticket sales, silent auction solicitation and sales and our 50/50 ticket sales. We had a very successful quilt opportunity again this year and those proceeds helped us achieve our donation goal. We continue to grow in numbers and sold over 200 tickets to the event this year.

Our decorations were really wonderful and the Chet Cole Life Enrichment Center on the Key Center Campus in Lecanto was transformed into a very festive venue with hot pink and lime green as the predominant theme colors. Harv Johnson and Amy Gilbert, members of Good Shepherd Lutheran, did a beautiful job in transforming the cafeteria windows into a lovely array of shapes and colors. John Mason Catering had an excellent presentation of appetizers and a very nice buffet and desert table. Our DJ, Fred Campbell Entertainment, again this year, had lots of attendees on their feet and out on the dance floor.

Our Silent Auction was beautifully displayed again this year. Leslie Palmer and her committee were able to put together a wonderful array of baskets, gift certificates and other highly, sought-after items. Our attendees eagerly perused the tables and bid on their selections. Our 50/50 ticketeers, John Bourdeaux and company, were ready with tickets in hand as attendees entered the seating area.

Of course, the Father Christmas Benefit Ball would not be complete without the awaited announcement of our Father Christmas Honoree. This year was the second time we were pleased to honor a very deserving couple as our Honorees for 2016 ─ Karen and Mel Black of Shepherd of the Hills.

Thank you and God Bless all who have supported and worked so hard to make this year’s ball a success.
