A Brief History Of How SOTH Came To Be

In 1993, a small group of 30 people started worshiping in an office at the Amsouth Bank in Beverly Hills, Florida.  Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church was chartered by 47 members on December 5, 1994 and officially welcomed into the Diocese of Central Florida at the

Diocesan convention on January 28, 1995.

During the summer of 1995 a small stone office building was purchased and the worship service was moved.  A parcel of land adjacent to the building was bought in 1998 and a new church was built and consecrated on April 21, 2002.  This building is purchased, and the stone office building (to widen the highway) and the land adjacent to the church grounds was purchased by Shepherd of the Hills with the county funds.  The current church was then built on this land and consecrated in March of 2011.

Our 25th anniversary was celebrated in 2020!  We have been blessed to have grown from a small group to over 300 today.  We are still growing and look forward to adding more to our flock in the years to come.
